Cascina delle Rose – Barbera d’Alba 2017
€22,00
Cascina delle Rose – Barbera d’Alba 2017
Region: Piedmont – Barbaresco
Grapes: 100% Barbera d’Alba
Farming: Biodynamic
Vinification: Fermented by indigenous yeasts in stainless steel vats. 7/10 days of skin contact. Malolactic fermentation completed.
Aging: Stainless steel and large Slavonian Oak casks for 15 months and last 6 months in the bottle.
Tasting notes: Ruby/garnet red color, fresh, wild cherry, raspberry, balsamic notes, slightly spiced. Elegant and well balanced.
AWARDS: WINE ADVOCATE – 88/90 points (Tasted from barrel, the 2017 Barbera d’Alba opens to a darkly concentrated appearance with lots of succulent primary fruit. At this very young point in the wine’s life, it offers lots of rich syrupy black fruit flavors with cured tobacco and faded tones of campfire ash. It will be interesting to see where the next couple of months of bottle aging will bring it. Some 5,600 bottles were produced.)
